Asset Manager BlackRock appointed Alchemi as Development Manager to explore the potential for its commercial property, 5 Strand, after following their success in redeveloping the RIBA Award winning 55 Victoria Street.

On appointment, Alchemi held an architectural competition based on a comprehensive brief, set by Studio L, to improve efficiency and seek the best development option for the site considering its important position in the Trafalgar Square Conservation Area.

Award-winning international architectural practice, Adjaye Associates delivered the winning entry. Resolution to grant planning consent for a stunning eleven-storey mixed-use development was green-lighted in July 2017.  The configuration includes 62,000 ft2 of Grade A offices as well as 38,000 ft2 of private residential from the seventh through to the eleventh floors.
