Alchemi Group seized the opportunity to restore a stucco fronted terrace of six Victorian, Grade II listed buildings to their former glory. Alchemi, Studio L and architects TateHindle have collaborated to create a exclusive, boutique development of special residences high-end residences for the modern-day family. Previously an abandoned hostel and in such disrepair that they were about to go on the "endangered buildings" list, our in-house design team worked closely with TateHindle (Cornwall Terrace, Grade I-listed) and English Heritage to thoroughly and sensitively restore the development.
Now completed, the development benefits from a concierge, six lateral apartments and five luxury townhouses over lower ground, ground and first floor levels with private front door entrances. The homes also boast 3.5 metre floor-to-ceiling heights on the 1st floors, restored windows with French shutters, and all enjoy privates terraces. Six lateral apartments are situated on upper levels, which overlook the garden square to provide 27,500 ft2 of saleable space.
Alchemi Group also worked with local residents and the garden committee to rejuvenate the garden square and the lucky residents of 7-12 will be their own given a private key and membership.
Construction commenced in February 2014 and practical completion was achieved in June 2016.
